Ahh nostalgic memories of Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre (just a bustop away from Kovan MRT and Heartland Mall) and dealing with good ol Ah Lim (who still operates his shop there after all these decades). Photo looks mysteriously romantic, don't it?

It's those whiners who keep complaining about 'ghost malls' that caused them to be re-developed into another one of those shitty modern malls.

Now, ah lim really gets famous...as he was already so well known...ha ha ha. It is a wonder he survived so many years, while so many shops of that kind have closed shop. btw, he is a Chinese Muslim. It is another wonder that Serangoon Shopping Centre is still around, though it had seen better days..or should it be 'livelier' days...it had good food shops too in the past. POSB had a branch there with Fixed Deposit Boxes was once there, a huge games centre, console table games, pools room, a 4D shop that was very popular, a stationery shop that was good, a florist that is quite good, photo developing shops, a pharmacy, a Malay barber, shop that sold school uniforms, etc...& of course, they had shops that men would be 'serviced"...someone mentioned it was a 'shopping centre' for homosexuals...the male toilet cubicles, had holes of a certain diameter of a certain height...ha ha ha til the police busted the place, there was a case in court of two was it company directors or something, caught in the cubicles..
