A Muslim extremist group, primarily made up of teenagers, attacked a church in the Philippines, peppering the building and a statue of the patron saint with bullets.

Persecution watchdog International Christian Concern reports that in December, the Islamic State-linked Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters, a terrorist group based in the southern Philippines, attacked a parish church after conducting a raid on the town’s military and police outposts.

After a 15-minute firefight, both the church building and a statue of the patron saint bore bullet holes.

Police and military authorities said the BIFF had also plotted to set ablaze Sta. Teresita parish church and the church-run Notre Dame of Dulawan high school in the area. However, their attempt to burn the two church facilities was foiled by policemen and soldiers.

Just before the attack on the church, around 50 gunmen from BIFF laid siege to the police station of Datu Piang and burned a police patrol vehicle on December 3. The attack was carried out in response to the earlier arrest of two men with relatives in the BIFF.

The terrorists also opened fire at local houses, sending residents running to safety or cowering in their homes.

BIFF is an Islamic separatist organization that seeks an independent Islamic state for the Filipino Muslim minority, known as the Moro people, who live primarily in the Philippines’ Mindanao region. BIFF members pledged allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in 2014….

moslems are pissed off at non-moslems by default. It's in their religious teachings. Throughout history, moslems have always invaded non-moslem countries to steal their lands, women and children, wealth simply in the name of their mohameddan religion. The koran instructed muslims to war against non-believers till 100% muslims. Currently, only 25% in the world are moslems. Just need a few missiles fired from a AMDK country, all the islamic nations will be wiped off. You are right, as long as Islam exists, there won't be peace in the world.

That is rubbish. They dont pray using joss stick and burn incense. The hui chinese do these and their mosque resemble a Taoist temple. They became and transit to taolist easily as this is what happen in Taiwan which is a blessing. Ask malay or even u to pray with joss stick, u all will decline and deem it as violation.

Whatever it is, they left islam for good. Well, the statue of Zheng He in temple might be the one that represent one of their ancestors so it consider praying to a moslem ancestor. Gradually, they left islam and Taoism overwhelm them.

Yes very true. The hui chinese dont have good terms with uyghur. They have different mosques. Hui chinese mosque usually is a taolist temple and requires to pray with joss stick and burn incense. They even say the uyghurs are evil people and say they bring bad names to them.

hui are chinese ethnicity converted to islam. Uyghurs are eastern turks, their religion before islam is Zoroastrianism and Buddhism.
