Investigations show Jurong tap water fit for drinking: PUB
PUB says laboratory checks show that the tap water supplied to homes in Jurong is fit for drinking.
The statement from PUB came in response to STOMPer Alex's feedback about the tap water in Jurong having an unusual taste and causing discomfort to the residents after consumption.
He wondered if this was due to distilled water being pumped into homes in Jurong.
PUB said in its reply:
"PUB thanks STOMPer Alex for his feedback on Jurong tap water.
"Our officers visited the block and took water samples from the unit in question as well as from the mains of the block.
"Laboratory analysis of the water samples taken shows that the water supplied is within the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Guidelines for Drinking Water Quality.
"Random checks with residents in the block were conducted and they did not notice any unusual taste/smell in the water.
"A check with the West Coast Town Council also showed that they did not receive any such similar feedback."
=> But why silent on the fact that water from the unit concerned has bad taste?
