Just released.

"Path Not Taken" edited by Michael Barr and Carl Trocki is a set of contributions by a group of characters that have the pulse of this country. Characters such as CC Chin, Lily Zubaidah Rahim, Cherian George, Michael Fernandez, Huang Jianli etc. Also detected the scent of Chua Beng Huat not far from it.

The book is academic in nature, so bit intense but throws light on the raid on Nantah, Singapore Herald, Samad Ismail, Marxist Conspiracy, Singapore Press Holdings etc.

I do hope that CC Chin in particular and Yao Souchou write a comprehensive no holds barred book on Communism in Singapore, the Singapore Town Committee and the characters that stood in front, stood behind in the shadows and those that crossed in and out during an interesting era.

Dear Scroobal

Waiting for LKY's death and all the embargoed archives of the old guard in the National Archives to be released :_)) should be interesting.

Just head for Eu Chooi Yip's and Keng Swee's oral records. Might be better than Yamashita's gold.

Dear Scroobal

Tempting thought in deed, but unfortunately embargoed as far as I know

Probably has a quote along these lines -" one of the best young female cadres was crushing the gunpowder, while a eager young kerala boy from Malaysia was filling empty shells in a dingy hole of a room. The shells were acquired by the girl's beau, a chap with a keen mind and bargaining skills acquired during the Japanese occupation"

Forgot to add, Sammyboy is mentioned in the book as well but no sign of hardware zone and YPAP. kudos to the guys in SBF for keeping it up for the last 9 years.

I gather ST's Sonny Yap is already on the hunt as we speak;)

Oh and thanks for the heads up Scroobal:)
