Pat on the back, and RM2,100 goes missing
WHEN a man got a pat on his back from a religious-looking man wearing a white skull-cap, telling him that he was not despositing the money correctly, he thought nothing of it. But, Sinar Harian reported, the grocery store manager ended up losing thousands of ringgit while depositing the day’s takings at an ATM centre in Shah Alam. After being patted on the back, the victim handed over the money to the man, who offered to deposit the RM5,000 into the ATM. The stranger then gave him the bank slip and went out. Shah Alam district police chief Asst Comm Noor Azam Jamaludin said the victim only realised later that RM2,100 was missing. He said the CCTV recording managed to capture images of the stranger and two other men, believed to be the suspect’s accomplices.
