SINGAPORE: A shift manager with restaurant chain Pastamania was sentenced to one week's jail and a fine of S$3,000 for pocketing S$1,650 of the restaurant's cash tills.
Nor Fazelan Ahmad Rosman, 33, was found guilty of one count of misappropriating the money.
He was attached to the Pastamania branch at West Coast Plaza between December 2010 and February 2011.
Nor Fazelan was responsible for supervising daily operations, including sales proceeds.
He would receive cash payments from customers for small-value orders and then remove the orders, or not reflect the information on the payments in the restaurant's computer system.
The court heard that he had misappropriated the money to support his family.
He has made partial restitution of S$1,200 to the restaurant.
