A passenger who repeatedly punched a Gold Coast bus driver in the head is on the run from police.
A police spokesman said the attack happened about 8.30am on Friday on Nerang Street in Southport.
"It looks like the bus driver was apparently punched numerous times in the head," he said.
"The offender ran away."
The driver was treated by paramedics at the scene and appeared to have a cut to his head.
News footage of the incident appeared to show the offender striking the driver in the head while dragging him along the ground.
It is unclear what led to the attack, which came a month after two women sparked public outrage when they were recorded.
