WHILE parents were busy gambling in the casino at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), their children were left outside for hours.
Reporters from Lianhe Wanbao visited the casino on Wednesday and discovered 10 children sitting outside the casino, waiting for their parents.
They were seated at a corner outside the casino - some of them were dozing off, while others were eating bread from a bag of food that had been prepared earlier.
Other children were seen talking to their siblings and playing with one another.
It is understood that they are between the age of eight and 18. Some were the only child and others were there with their siblings.
The children would end up waiting from periods between half hour and 2 hours.
It is believed that these children are most probably tourists in Singapore as the school semester has already started here and most of them would be in school.
One of children, a 13-year-old boy from Indonesia, said that his parents had went to check out the casino and he was with his younger sister who is eight-years-old.
He also said that they were under the supervision of their eldest brother, 15.
The boy told the Chinese evening dailies: "This is our first stop in Sentosa.
"Our parents asked us to go and play after they entered the casino, but we stayed here because we're tired."
A Malaysian businesswoman who was waiting outside the casino with her son while her husband gambled, said that she was afraid her son would go missing and ended up waiting outside with him.
