A tourist's trail of unhappy experiences

I TRIED to get on the Hippo River Cruise for a tour. I waited 65 minutes at its Boat Quay jetty before I was told that it had not opened for business and to try its Clarke Quay jetty, with the same result. So, I caught a cab back to my hotel, and stepped out to try again. I hopped onto a hotel bus after a staff member told me that the tour bus commentary and the bus driver would tell me where to alight to get to the Hippo boat venue.
But the surly driver switched off the music and commentary machine when a passenger complained it was too loud, thereby leaving the rest of us in the dark about where to alight for the Hippo boat tour.
At Suntec City, he slammed the bus door shut and accelerated to the carpark across while passengers were still trying to alight.
The result: We fell on top of one another. I have saved my ticket to show my friends when I tell them the sad story of how I almost got onto the Singapore River.
