This can work in short run, but the economic damage is far more severe in the long run..

You disrupt the credibility of the markets to function properly by artificial manipulation...once this takes hold, it will be a death spiral...everthing will be mispriced..

that's why we have this problem today..PAP inflated the economy, with debt, and supply, to drive demand...once that demand falls off the cliff, you have the situation now...eveeything malfunction.

Even the bastion of free market in US is interfering with market forces. So, no big deal ...move on. Support the PAP.

and same are even Proud of the way the US is doing it...truly sad thinking...now virus, what next...

when the price mechanism is known to be haywire, the consumer will not spend or invest, all that liquidity you pump into the system get saved in bank accounts, it will lead to negative interest rates...look at japan stupid

wah, new laws to force landlords to forbear, because the floor of the economy has fallen off....

Now we know, the gov has been price rigging the mkt mechanic s , without this crisis and demand drop off, PAPpys shenanigans will never exposed...no bids and false bids

It is like me suggesting that traders not be allowed to short stock market if they do not already own those stocks.

Market "manipulation"

But there already is such manipulation in the medical sector.

While the competition bureau ordered SMA to abolish the guidelines on fees, and said let the market decide, when Susan Lim did a willing patient willing doctor agreement to treat a very very wealthy member of the Brunei Royal family with very high fees charged on her part the court said that there is an "Ethical limit" on how high medical fees should go.

So there is manipulation everywhere lah.

Just depends who is more powerful in lobbying the government for it.
