STOMPer Serene is frustrated with the piled up rubbish at Jalan Bukit Ho Swee, which is causing an unbearable stink. She was told by the supervisor that this was because the foreign cleaners had been sent back, and replaced with local hire.
Serene elaborates:
"This is along Jalan Bukit Ho Swee.
"You can see the rubbish piled up and dirty water flooding and choking up the area.
"It's been this way for three days. Cockroaches are crawling all over, plus the hot weather these few days, can you imagine how pungent the smell is?
"I work at one of the shophouses along here, and it's really unbearable.
"I made a complaint with Town Council about this yesterday morning (Jun 16), and they sent a supervisor down.
"He explained that the foreign cleaners were no longer around and have just been replaced with locals.
"He did not elaborate further on this.
"So far, they have only been spraying the area with water from the hose but the rubbish has not been cleared at all. Why is this so?
"What I want to know is, when will the rubbish get cleared for good?"
