<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->MR CALVIN Ho in his letter on Monday, 'Allow Medisave for dental surgery', asked that we allow procedures such as root canal work and tooth crowning.
We do not do so because the current Medisave contribution rate has not factored in the funding of such non-surgical dental procedures. (Medisave can, however, be used for surgical placement of dental implants.)
We have kept Medisave coverage to largely hospitalisation needs, in order to keep the Medisave contribution rate to the minimum. Greater Medisave coverage will require a higher Medisave contribution rate. Karen Tan (Ms)
