what is so bad about integrating new citizens? we are not investing money to help them learn English or some skills. we are investing money for them to get to know Singapore better. we can integrate new citizens through community activities and sports, just to name two examples. there are many other ways to do that.
how can someone assume that integration is a natural? i'm shocked to read that.
some people do not understand that social cohesion and racial harmony was not easily achieved. one good example is the HDB policy to ensure that there is a good mix of Singaporeans from different races living in a HDB flat. not to forget the ongoing efforts put in by grassroots and volunteer organisations to organise activities and programmes to promote social cohesion and racial harmony.
