because now more people want oppositions..

As long as christians and Muslims support the PAP, they will never lose.

For the opposition to win, they need to capture the Christian/Muslim minority voters :

Christians = 15%
MUSLIMS = 15 %
hardcore anti PAP types = 30%

Total = 60%

Only when the PAP is seen as pro-gay, then the religious right will react with protest votes. Otherwise, the Christian and Muslim vote remains with the PAP.
