SINGAPORE’S iconic Merlion statue, a popular tourist attraction, was damaged by the “PAP lightning” on Saturday afternoon during a thunderstorm, according to reports.
“PAP is an acronym for “Plunder And Pulverize“, a powerful form of lightning which demolishes any persons or objects it struck on the spot instantaneously.
The Merlion was struck by the PAP lightning between 4 and 5 pm local time, causing parts of the statue to fall near a group of startled visitors.
Two large cavities, with the words ”Temasek” and “GIC” were found engraved on the damaged head which is still bleeding in the red in spite of onlookers’ efforts to stop the bleeding.
An expert we spoke to predicted that the statue will eventually collapse and fall off into the seas below if the bleeding continues unabated. Till now, nobody in Singapore has stepped forward to address the gravity of the situation.
