I raised this couple of weeks ago.

Looks like my initial assessment was mild. They have roped in pratically all bodies such as Hindu Endowment Board, new singaporeans, lawyers, doctors etc.

Vasantham now offers practically everything from medical, legal advice , talk back, culture, social views etc. Apparently Subhas Anandan was giving legal advice on TV yesterday.

Any Indian bros out there care to share your observations.

I'm not Indian, not Malay too, but I think this, PAP will have almost the entire 25% minority votes on top of their basic 40% Chinese support except in Hougang. Be psychologically prepared for a PAP landslide when election is called.

Dear Scroobal

The resources put into a purely Indian Channel versus their size of the electorate at 10% raises an eyebrow and even more questions.

Look the indians at best constitute 10 % of the electorate. If we assume that at best they will get at max 80% of that 10% , that means at the margins they are only increasing their electoral share by at most two or three percent. Combined with a greater share of the Malay vote we are looking at a five point plus percentage advantage to the PAP assuming an 80/20 split in the PAP's favor and a 10% indian 15%
Malay mix.

That extra percentage will not matter much when the PAP is winning 70/30 , it matters though where the PAP wins 55/45. or 52 48. Thats just looking at rough electoral math

Do they anticipate losing a majority of the chinese heartland votes if elections are held under the conditions present today ?

Note a purely Indian channel has been a long long time coming ever since we have had a purely chinese, english and a Malay Channel. Why now ? The emergence of India and a growing Indian PR population which they hope to turn to citizens ? The need to create an Indian atmosphere for Indian Businessmen which was not there prior to the rise of India or when India was still suffering from the Indian growth rate. Questions and more Questions hope u can shed light.

It does tell me that things will be close in some of the wards. The fact that the Indian ration too 1or 2 percentage points from the chinese portion leaving the Malays intact calls for some sort of inclusion.

Good gto watch as an observer how things move.

Perhaps it's more for the entertainment of Indian foreign workers?
