Panties, nude photos found in rape probe

KLANG, MALAYSIA: Police may have stumbled upon a paedophile after a rape investigation turned up two bags of panties and a photo album full of naked pictures.
The district police made the shocking discovery when they went to search the room of a sales executive of a publishing company based in Shah Alam.
This came after a 14-year-old girl lodged a police report that she was raped by the man.
Police are tightlipped about the case, but sources said the report was lodged on Wednesday and the suspect was picked up on the same day.
The 26-year-old suspect, who has been described as good looking, allegedly raped the girl when she was alone in the Regency Apartment here where he was renting a room.
The girl is from Perak and the niece of the landlord. She arrived at the apartment only two days ago.
When the police searched his room, they were shocked to find the panties and photographs, believed to have been taken from a handphone.
District Criminal Investigation Department chief Deputy Superintendent Ruslan Ibrahim confirmed the arrest and seizure of the panties and album, but declined to elaborate further.
However, sources said the photographs included naked pictures of young girls and some where he was having sex with the girls.
Investigations are underway to find out whether the panties were stolen or mementos which he kept belonging to the girls he raped or women he had sex with. The panties were both in children and adult sizes.
Ruslan said the suspect was from Johor and had been remanded for four days.
