Pair stole from own families
<!-- by line --> By Khushwant Singh
SHE was kicked out of her house by her parents for stealing from them but the 17-year-old returned to break into the Yishun flat with her boyfriend two days later. The next day, the pair targeted his family's flat in Woodlands Drive. On Monday, Khadijah Mohammed Rashid and Nazrul Iskhandar Fatta Jamol, 19, a full-time national serviceman, was ordered to undergo reformative training by a district court. This could be for 1 1/2 years to three years, depending on their progress.
The court was told that on the evening of Sept 25 last year, Khadijah's mother found the window facing the common corridor forced upon and two DVD players, worth $170, and a punching bag valued at $150, were missing. A neighbour told her that he had seen her daughter and Nazrul fiddling with the window but thought the daughter had locked herself out. The teens sold their loot but could not have received much as they were broke the next day. They then went on to steal $150 from his stepfather and $500 and a Sony Playstation, worth $400, from his sister.
