  • "The theatrical Iranian launch of missiles at the Israeli cities revealed that the 300 ballistic and hyper-sonic missiles did not kill even one Zionist… In contrast, the self-sacrificing operation that was carried out on a street in Jaffa-Tel Aviv and which caused 8 killed Israelis, was more important than their missiles" – official PA daily

While Israel successfully continues to eradicate the terror infrastructure of the Iran-backed terror organizations Hamas and Hezbollah, Iran's own two massive missile attacks on Israel have caused no Israeli casualties and only damaged property.

The futility of Iran's attempts to harm Israel have also become clear to the Palestinians. A columnist of the official PA daily put it bluntly: The terror attack by two terrorists in Jaffa-Tel Aviv the same day as Iran launched hundreds of missiles against Israel was much more effective because 7 Israeli civilians were killed, whereas the Iranian missiles "didn't even kill one Zionist":

"When the Iranian forces launched missiles at Israel [on Oct. 1, 2024] … the citizens applauded with joy, thinking that the Iranian Ayatollah republic had responded to the Israeli belligerence and crimes in order to avenge the assassination of [Hamas Political Bureau Head] Ismail Haniyeh, [Hezbollah Secretary-General] Hassan Nasrallah, and the rest of the senior officials, as was stated in the Iranian [Islamic] Revolutionary Guards [Corps] (IRGC) statement.
However, checking the theatrical Iranian launch of missiles at the Israeli cities revealed that the 300 ballistic and hyper-sonic missiles – according to the Iranian statement, which was denied by the Israeli fascist government – did not kill even one Zionist. The only one who was killed was a Palestinian civilian from the Gaza Strip… In contrast, the self-sacrificing operation that was carried out two days ago on a street in Jaffa-Tel Aviv, shortly before the launch of the missiles, and which caused 8 killed Israelis (sic., shooting attack; 7 people murdered ), was more important than their missiles, which were full of a small quantity of explosives, and some of them were without explosives. This was a copy of the first Iranian performance on April 13, [2024]… The Iranian missiles hit approximately 100 houses and a number of Israeli Air Force bases, but they did not kill even one Israeli, and did not cause them any significant damage."

PA Chairman Abbas' advisor Mahmoud Al-Habbash also criticised Iran for being unable to "threaten Israel" and for the lack of "damage" great enough to deter Israel from continuing its "aggression." Moreover, Al-Habbash repeated PA frustration over the fact that Iran only exploits the Palestinians for its own interests:

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbash: "Every party that is subjected to aggression by Israel has a right to respond to this aggression. Therefore, Iran has the right to respond to Israel if it was subjected to aggression in any manner. However, unfortunately this response does not reach a level that could threaten Israel and does not cause damage that would perhaps prevent Israel from continuing its aggression. I want to be clear: We want everyone to join the battle to defend Palestine and the Palestinian people, but for the sake of Palestine, and not for using the Palestinian cause to achieve what they want and their [own] interests."

Another regular columnist criticized Hamas for launching the "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel, which "has become an Israeli flood throughout the region that has become an awful tragedy for the Palestinian people":

"The facts on the ground speak for themselves, after it has unfortunately become an Israeli flood throughout the region that has become an awful tragedy for the Palestinian people, because it led and enabled Israel to completely destroy the Gaza Strip and destroy a large part of the Palestinian people's resources...
We will return to Hamas –experience shows that there is no hope that it will conduct an analysis of everything that has happened from a Palestinian national viewpoint or the viewpoint of political Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood organization and their interests… Therefore, there is no hope that Hamas will change its skin and its role, and therefore we will see no self-criticism or analysis of ‘the Flood' attempt, which has only brought destruction to the Palestinian people and the region, and especially gave Israel the opportunity to tighten its control in the Middle East."
[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida website, Oct. 2, 2024]
Palestinian Media Watch reported that the same columnist called on Hamas to "end the fighting unilaterally" and release the 101 Israeli hostages unconditionally to stop the war in Gaza, but also reached the conclusion that "Palestine" is of little interest to Hamas in the overall "strategic project" of the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas. Now with Yahya Sinwar gone, perhaps someone in Gaza or abroad will agree to unilaterally release the hostages and end the war.

Headline: "The scandals of the second Iranian performance"

"The Palestinian people and the Lebanese people desired any voice or any response – regardless of its kind and scope – against the aggressive Israeli genocide state, in order to restrain its fascist tendencies (refers to the 2023 Gaza war; see note below -Ed.). Two days ago, Tuesday, [Oct. 1, 2024,] when the Iranian forces launched missiles at Israel… the citizens applauded with joy, thinking that the Iranian Ayatollah republic had responded to the Israeli belligerence and crimes in order to avenge the assassination of [Hamas Political Bureau Head] Ismail Haniyeh, [Hezbollah Secretary-General] Hassan Nasrallah, and the rest of the senior officials, as was stated in the Iranian [Islamic] Revolutionary Guards [Corps] (IRGC) statement.
However, checking the theatrical Iranian launch of missiles at the Israeli cities revealed that the 300 ballistic and hyper-sonic missiles – according to the Iranian statement,
which was denied by the Israeli fascist government – did not kill even one Zionist. The only one who was killed was a Palestinian civilian from the Gaza Strip, who died as a Martyr in Jericho next to the Palestinian [PA] National Security Forces' Nu'eima Camp, due to a missile that fell right on top of him.In contrast, the self-sacrificing operation that was carried out two days ago on a street in Jaffa-Tel Aviv, shortly before the launch of the missiles, and which caused 8 killed Israelis (sic., refers to shooting attack in which 7 people, 6 of them Israelis, were murdered; see note below), was more important than their missiles, which were full of a small quantity of explosives, and some of them were without explosives. This was a copy of the first Iranian performance on April 13, [2024]…
Yes, the Iranian missiles hit approximately 100 houses and a number of Israeli Air Force bases, but they did not kill even one Israeli, and did not cause them any significant damage, as the Israeli leadership announced. All the exaggeration [of the event] and the statements by [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu's government, and on the opposite side the impassioned Iranian statements, were meant for [internal] consumption, deception, and improving the image of the Persian leadership – and not for anything else. Even if Israel will respond, it will be a calculated response as part of the understandings with the masters of the White House, because Iran has an important role in the region… in a manner that serves the essential American interests in it."

Excerpt of a column by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for official PA daily and former advisor to former PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on national affairs
Headline: "An initial analysis of the Iranian operation"
"For the second time during the year of genocide and war crimes of insane assassinations against leaders and members of Hezbollah (refers to Israeli response to Hezbollah attacks during the 2023 Gaza war; see note below -Ed.)… Iran responded on Oct. 1, [2024,] by firing dozens of missiles [at Israel] (sic., around 200 missiles at Israel, killing 1 Palestinian). The [Iranian Islamic] Revolutionary Guard [Corps] (IRGC) statement said that they fired 80 ballistic missiles at Israel, while the Israeli military sources said that the number of missiles that were launched reached approximately 400 missiles…
This operation came to restore the Iranian honor… after its allies lost confidence in the positions of [Iranian Supreme] Leader Ali Khamenei and the heads of his army during recent months…
Initial results of the Iranian operation: First, residents of Israel from the north to the south and the east to the west, including the settler herds from the Palestinian West Bank, entering shelters; second, completely closing the airspace; …third, a number of military sites and the Ramon Airport in the Negev were damaged; fourth, approximately 2,000 warnings went out to Israelis to stay in the shelters; fifth, units of the [Israeli] army and police were mobilized in large numbers in the cities and settlements, particularly after the self-sacrificing operation that took place on a Jaffa-Tel Aviv road in which 8 Israelis were killed, shortly before the Iranian bombing (sic., refers to Hamas terrorists murdering 7 people, 6 of them Israelis, in Jaffa; see note below); fifth (sic., sixth), the ground invasion operation in Lebanon was stopped (sic.)."

Excerpt of a column by Bassem Barhoum, regular columnist for the official PA daily
Headline: "The failure of ‘the Flood' – is Hamas the kind to learn lessons?"
"This article is not meant to analyze ‘the Al-Aqsa Flood' attempt (Hamas' name for its terror war against Israel; see note below -Ed.), as the facts on the ground speak for themselves, after it has unfortunately become an Israeli flood throughout the region that has become an awful tragedy for the Palestinian people, because it led and enabled Israel to completely destroy the Gaza Strip and destroy a large part of the Palestinian people's resources. More importantly, more than 40,000 civilians (sic., refers to debunked Hamas figures and includes at least 17,000 terrorists) have died as Martyrs in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, and more than 100,000 have been wounded. And now ‘the Flood' is moving to Lebanon, in the form of a bloody and destructive Israeli war of aggression, in addition to the continued Israeli bombings in Syria and Yemen, and the threat to harm Iran and the entire Middle East region.
And we will return to Hamas – experience shows that there is no hope that it will conduct an analysis of everything that has happened from a Palestinian national viewpoint or the viewpoint of political Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood organization and their interests…Therefore, there is no hope that Hamas will change its skin and its role, and therefore we will see no self-criticism or analysis of ‘the Flood' attempt, which has only brought destruction to the Palestinian people and the region, and especially gave Israel the opportunity to tighten its control in the Middle East."
