SINGAPORE: A 47-year-old training consultant was fined $4,000 in Court on Tuesday following an incident in March this year where his dog bit a woman who came to his house to carry out work.
Madam Toh Lai Chin, a piano tuner, was treated at Tan Tock Seng Hospital where she was given 43 days of medical and hospitalisation leave.
The dog's owner, Terri Chua Teck Hee, was convicted under the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act.
Chua has also been ordered to pay Madam Toh $2,000 in compensation.
The incident took place on March 18 this year at his home at Berwick Drive where Madam Toh was carrying out her work .
The dog bit her wrist and thigh when she was doing work, and continued to bite her when she tried to chase it away.
Chua's son pulled the dog away but by then Madam Toh was bleeding from her hands and thighs.
Court documents also revealed that a similar incident took place about a month later involving the same dog.
The dog bit another woman who fell and suffered bruises.
