Continuously maintaining contact lest they forget about us? The latest news that our dear President is visiting China buffled me...what purpose?

To negotiate some trade deals? Defense deals? Some more, its official visit leh...what is the agenda? if it is something important why isn't MM or PM there? Or if its economical, why isn't Economic Minister there?

If he visit India - ok, understandable...Indian and indian tok....but China?

I worked in China for the last 3 years. Recently, at a political forum in a TV programs, it was mentioned that S'pore = LKY. So if LKY will to kick the bucket, China politician will not give much thought of S'pore in the world arena. Simply put, they don't give a fuck about LHL. They do not have the respect of LHL, like they does for LKY. So you see, PAP has to despatched their politicians to China on a regular basis, just to maintain that "contact". PAP needs China political support in the long run.
