Silly boy you obviously knows NOTHING about computer. MS W7 is the least accepted OS. Market share of MS dropped unprecedentedly starting from XP onwards, from then they worsen every time they changed, Vista worse than XP, W7 worse than vista. They have countless compatibility issues, with countless hardware and software, and drivers issues. Every other OS have increased market share and eat into MS. MS is in the process of being replaced and removed permanently.

The more serious computing purposes, the more they must use Linux instead of MS. All supercomputer and key servers use Linux, others will use BSD & Unix. MS have only one destination, dumpsters besides gamers. I can see that games will be the last area for MS to hang on, but still they will be taken away. No serious computing purposes can trust MS, it can not perform and fulfill the necessities.

Even in cellphones MS mobile is being evicted strongly by Linux Android, and other variants that will come after google.

Today OPEN SOURCE = BETTER SOFTWARE is a golden rule.

So wake up and face reality.

Seems to be here.

Sounded like they hacked up RH and make it compatible with their DB and Sun's hardware. Its interesting how many "big" companies are going into linux nowadays.

Yes, have to go through a register stage (no need to activate with email) before downloading, a little troublesome. I am downloading the 3.3GB compressed DVD for 64 bit right now. But download speed is slow :(

Mate don't get so angry about a troll. I still remember when I'm in Singapore, M$ is the king. Everything is M$ this M$ that. Most Singaporean you talk to have no idea what linux, open source is. I even email CNA and pointed out reports by them on several occasion on their inaccuracies regarding open source, linux etc. Thats how bad things are in Singapore. The only people that are looking at open source are actually the expats, tourist from overseas. Even some Malaysian I know plays around with them, but just not Singaporean. I believe, and hope that things are changing in Singapore now. Sorry haven't been back a while so you might have to inform me on this. It can get depressing when you are surrounded by M$ wannabes. Just have to find a different environment.

MS is a business. Open Source is a solution.

That is different. :)

What is significant now is Oracle is following the trend, that made Red Hat plus SuSE (Novell) plus Oracle (Sun) going in the same direction. In a parallel but different level SGI & IBM & Apple are going that way too.

HP (Compaq) will be a matter of time, that will make MS very lonely.

Google is now way ahead of Yahoo because of their moves in up to date technologies including Linux. MS tried to buy over Yahoo, but Yahoo is unwilling to work with MS even. Any company that gets closer to MS will go down, and that is also a trend.

;)

Re: ORACLE (SUN) UNBREAKABLE LINUX Enterprise 5.5!

Test drive already. ;)

Alike RH Enterprise I expect it to be as reliable.

They do not push towards latest features in enterprise versions, they go for high reliability.

2.6.18-194.el5 kernel

Most of the new features with unclear reliabilities are excluded.
