SINGAPORE : The President has appointed members of two key committees that will certify whether or not the minority candidates in the coming general election belong to their respective communities.

They are the Malay Community Committee and the Indian and Other Minority Communities Committee.

The announcement in Monday's government gazette is yet another sign that the general election is near and that the Singapore Parliament may be dissolved soon.​
