Two of RSAF's F-15SGs scrambled and took off within minutes when the pilot of a Scoot plane declared a bomb threat – it was flying en route to Hat Yai, Thailand. The F-15SG pilots closely escorted the Scoot plane from the South China Sea to land safely back at Changi Airport. The Singapore Police Force is investigating the incident.
But for our RSAF pilots who are on stand-by duties 24/7, every threat is considered real until proven otherwise. They keep us and our skies safe. Well done, - Ng Eng Hen fb 05 April 2018.

SINGAPORE - A Scoot flight headed for Hat Yai, Thailand, returned to Changi Airport on Thursday (April 5) after the authorities were alerted to an alleged bomb threat on board.
Flight TR634, which left Changi Airport at 1.20pm, was escorted back by two Republic of Singapore Air Force fighter jets. This is protocol for such incidents, sources said.
Scoot, in a statement on Thursday afternoon, said that the aircraft landed safely at 3.23pm.
"We're working closely with the authorities for necessary follow-up to ensure the safety of our guests," said the airline.
The Police confirmed that a report was received regarding an alleged bomb threat made by a passenger on board the flight.
They later said they checked the plane as well as the baggage of the passenger who made the bomb threat and his two travelling companions and found no threat.
A 41-year-old man has been arrested for making a false bomb threat. The Straits Times understands that the suspect is Singaporean.
The airline also confirmed that the aircraft was declared safe "after investigations and associated procedures were concluded". It added that the flight has been rescheduled to resume its journey to Hat Yai at 6.30pm.
Scoot said that three passengers were offloaded for investigations.
