With regards to the abolition of GST on the essentials,,,i disagree with that. The problem is those wealthy etc also buy such essentials and they wont be taxed on that. So it is pointless. I prefer all items be subjected to GST. In turn GST vouchers be given to low income earners...but the amount will be substantial. not those pittance than pap dishes out. So lets say pay from 0 to 1 k get X amount, 1 to 2 K get Y amount per year...put it on a sliding scale, so it does not penalise workers but benefit the lower income. I recommend the GST voucher be minimum 1K per year. Also if u abolish gst on these essentials,,,those foreigners etc get to buy stuff without tax. so no point subsidising them.

Well said. Also for cars bring back the luxury car category and there and road tax etc on luxury cars. The rich have the money can spend more on their toys, a much better system than direct tax on the rich which will just cause them to hide and look for loop holes etc

We've been paying our ministers very well since the 1970s. Singapore's reserves and dollar have grown from strength to strength, while the rest of the ASEAN currencies have floundered. Clearly, our strategy of paying politicians and civil service well enough to deter most of them from corruption has worked wonderfully.

I would have done better if I joined the RC and be a PLP like u,,,but I did not,,,,,,I could not live with myself getting shafted like a dog by my pappies masters to try and get a catering contract for the RC,,,and having to put up with being nice to all the ah sohs at the RC KTV
