Although the incident happens in Singapore, but it is hardly reported in our world class ST.

But let us be candid, in china there are more political freedom than in Singapore. When I was an undergrad I used to mix around with many post grad students from overseas especially those from China, because I was their main translator.

Our political system was the butt of their joke. Though communist in black and white, they enjoy more political freedom than we have in Singapore.

The interesting part was the Taiwanese post grad student and me together with this post grad china students we were all friend. I was always caught in between their cross-fire much like current Taiwan and China problems, albeit in a smaller scale!

Many foreigners are laughing at our political system but the Chinese communists are either thick skinned or plain ignorant to mock us without looking at themselves first.

your bandit friends should know what is 五十步笑百步...

The reason you think there is apparently more freedom in China than S'pore is not because the CCP is more liberal than PAP. The reason is due to size. You can't compare China which is a massive country with a city-state like S'pore. If China is as small as S'pore, you also will feel stifled of any freedom. If S'pore is as big as China, nay, if S'pore is as big as only Shanghai, the PAP will appear to be much more liberal. But that is only because nobody can control such a big area as effectively as a small one. The CCP has constantly said it wants to learn from PAP how to control the Chinese better. Maybe that is just entertaining the PAP. PAP is a diabolical polity and inhuman power machine. For the good of China, pls dont follow S'pore's governance.
