Drone aircraft kills Pakistanis at a funeral

A missile strike by a US drone aircraft has killed at least 45 people in Pakistan.

The drone targeted a group of people who were attending a funeral for other victims of previous drone strikes.

Dozens of others at the funeral were injured when two missiles were fired.

Earlier in the day, a US drone killed at least 45 Pakistani Taliban militants when it targeted the funeral of an insurgent commander.

The region where the funerals were being held is in South Waziristan which is a stronghold of Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud.

Mehsud and his followers earlier this month attacked a mosque, killing 33 people.
