Texas authorities have arrested one person after a shooting at the Fort Sam Houston US Army base near San Antonio.
A San Antonio police officer said a soldier surrendered and was taken into custody and handed over to military police after he allegedly shot another service member on Monday afternoon.
The female victim is reported to be in stable condition.
Spokesman Brent Boller said the shooting happened at the Army Medical Department Center and School on the base.
A motive for the shooting was not immediately clear.
A San Antonio television station showed footage of one person being taken to hospital in an ambulance, but no information about any potential victims was immediately available.
The post's facilities include the US Army's top hospital and the headquarters of its North America Command.
