what he means is the Govt is fine with any form of conflict of interest that is in their favour & are against those that work against their interest.

[Tony Tang Kok Yong]
Wat a idiot minister.. Doing a good job is different from conflict of interest lah... 2 different matter..

A government person becoming the chief of the main labour union here.

Conflict of interest? Nah... it's just business as usual in PAP's Singapore Inc. ;)

他是谁? 真是他妈的帅呆了! 原来是个牙签小偷。hahahahaha

I would rather the WP spent its limited resources on
- bread and butter issues like unaffordable housing, pressure cooker education and unreliable transportation
-critical issues like foreign invasion of jobs and education, accountability/transparency of Temasek/GIC, restrictions on political freedom and unions ect2

Why even bother when The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is a body within the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.
Better to ask why the Pinoy in Seagate got away scot free for insulting silliporeans

It is people who ask "why bother" who contribute to the state we are in today. SL cannot change things by asking that question, that is true. However , by raising the question, she is bringing a matter of concern out in the open. The question elicits Yaacob's non-answer response , essentially, " there is no conflict because we say there isn't" which shows you how bankrupt of ideas and how mediocre a bunch of people we have in cabinet. Singaporeans should weep. I am damn impressed with Sylvia. Everytime she opens her mouth in parliament I think Ministers' ears prick up. Say that about all our MIW MPs. I think they bring nothing of their supposedly vast intellect to the public arena.

Indeed. And if the entire Parliament consisted of only PAP MPs, I'm quite sure no questions would have been asked.

Everyone would have been laughing, smiling, sleeping, being absent, throwing birthday parties etc.

You want WP to solve bread and butter issues, let it have half or a third of the seats and some ministerial portfolios.

One party rule is de facto monarchy. And all monarchies eventually die out.

think one A3 paper also not enough to list. For starters, Pinky's husband position is conflict until cannot conflict liaoz.

Nobody has the same business acumen as me , that is to buy high and sell low :p

Conflict of interest does not apply to a certain class of pappy dogs.

Typical PAP talk. Everything to WP's questions is no.

quite the other way. Minister's wish they were wearing ear plugs so they couldn't hear the truth.

LOL .................. LOL

Wonder if any of them realised that Hilary Clinton became secretary of state only long after Bill had completed his 2 terms.
