Odd-job worker found dead
SANDAKAN: An odd-job worker was found dead with his head almost severed at a construction site at Jalan Labuk here.
A security guard patrolling the area at about 7.40am yesterday saw the victim Jalidin Dalim, 34, staggering as he was chased by a machete-wielding man.
The security guard immediately ran back to notify his superior and returned to the scene 10 minutes later to find the victim’s blood-soaked body sprawled on the ground.
A police team led by senior investigating officer Asst Supt Naaem Mohd Nor rushed to the location on being notified of the incident.
His body was sent to the Duchess of Kent Hospital for post-mortem.
It was learned that the victim from Kg Ranau in Kota Kinabalu was married and his wife was five months pregnant with their first child.
Police are trying to establish the motive of the murder and have not ruled out the possibility of revenge.
