SINGAPORE - An Associate Professor from the National University of Singapore, claimed on his personal blog that China should allow its youths to consume hallucinogenic drugs so that they can be creative, reported a local media source.
Associate Professor Shi Yuzhi, a Chinese language and linguistics professor from China then said that he was not encouraging the consumption of drugs but merely discussing the idea from an academic standpoint.
NUS has since responded that it does not endorse the Department of Chinese Studies’ professors views and that it is investigating the matter.
The professor had stated this in relation to Steve Jobs public claims that LSD had a ‘positive life changing experience’ for him.
His views stem from a book that he is currently writing, titled: "Why China cannot produce a Steve Jobs".
