Indomie Mi Goreng creator Nunuk Nuraini dies at 59

Nunuk Nuraini, the creator of the various flavors of the popular Indomie Mi Goreng instant noodles in Indonesia, has died at the age of 59.

Indofood, the producer of Indomie and pioneer of instant noodles in Indonesia, confirmed Nuraini’s death on Wednesday, Jan. 27.
“Nunuk Nuraini died today [Wednesday] and her soul returned peacefully to God,” Indofood’s head of public relations Nurlita Novi Arlaida told Indonesian media outlet Kompas.com.
The cause of her death however was not disclosed.
“Hopefully, all her sins will be forgiven and she is in the nicest place in heaven now. And for the family will be given the strength,” said Agus Suprapta of Indofood’s human resource division.
Indomie’s varieties include chicken, vegetable and chicken curry, aside from their popular Mi Goreng or fried noodles.
Netizens, meanwhile, have expressed their condolences upon Nuraini’s passing.
