A 38-year-old woman was arrested on April 24 for her suspected involvement in a case of loanshark harassment.

The police said they were alerted on April 21 to the case along Admiralty Drive, where the main gate of a residential unit was locked with a bicycle lock. A debtor's note was also pasted.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the woman's identity and arrested her.

Preliminary investigations revealed that she is allegedly involved in other similar cases of loanshark harassment.

The woman will be charged in court on April 26 under the Moneylenders Act 2008.

The police said they have zero tolerance against loanshark harassment activities.

They added: "Those who deliberately vandalise properties, cause annoyance or disrupt public safety, peace and security, will be dealt with severely in accordance with the law."

Members of the public are advised to stay away from loansharks and not to work with or assist them in any way.
