A STOMPer noticed paint splashed on walls, the work of loan sharks, outside a flat at Bukit Batok. He says:
"Last week when I was visiting a friend who resides at Block 289B, Bukit Batok St 25, I was surprised to see the words 'qian $ P $' (in Chinese it means owing money) on the wall of the void deck.
"Clearly it must have been done by the agents of these loan sharks who went around to terrorise borrowers who did not pay their debts on time.
"Even the doors of the flats were not spared and they had no qualms splashing green paint on the door to tell other residents that the particular family had not settled their debts.
"Whether the house owner or the tenant owes money to the loan sharks is unclear and the poor resident must be driven nearly bonkers by such hard tactics.
"Sometimes a new tenant might have moved in and he would be in for a hard time even though he is innocent."
