Nomura has hired about 60 per cent of the graduate trainees let go by Lehman Brothers in the wake of the bank’s collapse, in many cases using the Facebook social networking site to track them down.

The recruitment drive highlights the resurgent fortunes of some investment banks just a year after the world was rocked by the financial crisis.
