Singapore encore makes Middle Eastern debut
Singapore Encore, a cultural event showcasing Singapore's fine arts, culture and cuisine, will entertain Gulf dignitaries in its Middle Eastern debut on Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Atlantis, Palm Jumeirah.
The Singapore International Foundation (SIF) is partnering with the Singapore Consulate-General in Dubai to host this special evening that will see the attendance of some 300 top government officials and distinguished guests from the diplomatic, business, social and cultural strata of Emirati and Gulf society.
Singapore jazz diva Claressa Monteiro and her band, along with singing sensation Kareema Ramli, are set to enthrall the audience with their vocal stylistics. Against the backdrop of changing scenes of Singapore, guests will also get to enjoy a tantalising array of uniquely Singaporean cuisine like laksa, satay and Hainanese chicken rice.
The Special Guest for the evening is Singapore's Senior Minister of State for Education, Information, Communications and the Arts, Rear Admiral (NS) Lui Tuck Yew.
Since its inception in 2004, Singapore Encore has travelled to cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vienna, New York, Washington, Tokyo and Manila.
