Nine suspects nabbed for loansharking

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested nine suspects believed to be part of a loansharking syndicate.
They were nabbed in a seven-hour operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Police Intelligence Department.
The suspects - eight males and one female - are aged between 19 and 43.
The arrests were made in various parts of Singapore, including Tampines, Serangoon, Aljunied, Punggol, Woodlands and Bedok.
Mobile phones, transaction receipts, a computer, prepaid SIM cards, ATM cards, cash, bank books and a laptop were seized during the operation.
Six of the suspects will be charged in court on Thursday under the Moneylenders Act.
Investigations against the remaining suspects are ongoing.
