南非西開普省(Western Cape)一處沙灘，日前被人發現有約100隻深海鯊魚屍體，且鯊魚的頭部、背鰭及尾巴全被切斷，景象十分駭人，當局環境部門正在調查釐清。

綜合外媒報導，當地動物福利組織Cape of Good Hope SPCA當地時間15日上午接獲通報，斯特蘭芬泰因沙灘(Strandfontein beach)有大量遭人丟棄的鯊魚屍體，事後派遣人員前往調查後，在現場發現約100隻被人切斷頭部、背鰭及尾巴的深海鯊。
該組織懷疑，被割下的鯊魚鰭正是盜獵者的目標，且有可能流到黑市以高價出售，同時被販售至海外當作佳餚。對此，開普敦當局環境部門目前已展開調查。
SPCA將此事曝光在臉書後，引發許多網友痛批「太令人難過」、「這些盜獵者根本不在乎海洋生物所受的痛苦，他們唯獨在乎錢，令人作嘔」、「希望當局可以盡早抓到嫌犯」、「希望SPCA及其他執法人員能採取行動，來監督並有效停止這些無謂的屠殺」。
