Diamond-lovers--- brace yourselves...
The Lucara Diamond Company discovered the second-largest gem-quality diamond at its mine in Botswana, South Africa, coming in at more than 1,100 carats.
And if you think that's big--- it pales in comparison to the one found in 1905--- a more than 3,100 carat diamond that was cut into nine separate stones, many of which are in the British Crown Jewels.
