Japs focusing on hybrid and hydrogen cell. Toyota has given up on EVs.Where the fuck are the Japs in all this?
At this point in time, battery electric seems to be the most popular alternative to fuel. Still opportunity for hydrogen to catch up.Japs focusing on hybrid and hydrogen cell. Toyota has given up on EVs.
Hydrogen is dead. The infrastructure to setup hydrogen is more expensive than EVs. Cost to produce hydrogen is equivalent to fossils. At this point in time, battery electric seems to be the most popular alternative to fuel. Still opportunity for hydrogen to catch up.
Malaysia will soon start exporting green hydrogen. In two to three years time. What are you talking about.Hydrogen is dead. The infrastructure to setup hydrogen is more expensive than EVs. Cost to produce hydrogen is equivalent to fossils.
And you can't drive into Malaysia.
Japs are trying hard to save their manufacturing industry and workers. Shifting to EVs will kill their economy.
Export to where? No demand still produce what? Then use fossils to get that hydrogen?Malaysia will soon start exporting green hydrogen. In two to three years time. What are you talking about.
To me, it's really baffling that the Japs have not jumped wholesale into EVs. They have the engineering knowhow, the money for R&D. Now the commies have overtaken them. Unthinkable! Betting on other fuel alternatives could prove a costly mistake. Their dominance in the car market may be over as a result. Remember Betamax vs VHS, Kodak film vs digital photography, the typewriter vs the word processor.Hydrogen is dead. The infrastructure to setup hydrogen is more expensive than EVs. It's the cradle-to-grave ethic of Japanese keiretsu: employees are expected to commit their entire working lives to a corporation in return for lifelong employment. To me, it's really baffling that the Japs have not jumped wholesale into EVs. The need for ICE, provides employment for millions in Japan. That is why they moved into hybrid. They just add on more manufacturing and profit into building cars.
They can make EVs but unemployment will hit the roof.
OK understood, thanks. And yes, it would seem hybrid is the most viable option for them. With a view to evolve to 100% battery electric in future, I'm sure. Still can't believe the brilliant Japs didn't see this coming decades ago. It's the cradle-to-grave ethic of Japanese keiretsu: employees are expected to commit their entire working lives to a corporation in return for lifelong employment.
Any change in company direction must be evolutionary and managed cautiously to minimise disruption to workforce. Revolutionary transformation with massive retrenchments a la Western management culture is frowned upon.

Hydrogen is super expensive to move. Logistics is mind boggling.
Regulations on bulk hydrogen movements are not ready. Nothing is standardized.
Malaysia talk. But doesn't walk
