VISITORS to Sentosa next month will get to zip down on one of Asia's steepest and longest flying fox rides.
Sentosa will open its multi-million dollar Megazip Adventure Park to the public by mid-August.
Besides the 450 m long flying fox ride, or Megazip, the park also features a treetop rope course, a 14 m simulated free fall and a rock climbing wall.
Chief executive officer of Sentosa Leisure Group Mike Barclay, who made a surprise appearance at the park's media launch on Thursday morning by attempting the simulated free fall 'ParaJump', said: 'Megazip Adventure Park is the first sports attraction on Sentosa, which is situated in the heart of Senotsa's nature zone, providing an all-new experience for our guests.
'The opening of Megazip takes energy levels to a new high on Sentosa, which is fast establishing itself as an island for sports enthusiasts.'
He also gave an idea of what else is coming up for the island in the months ahead: a water sports centre, surfing and free-fall flying.
As for those concerned about their safety, the man behind the Park Alexander Blyth said that safety is their 'top priority' and that they had 'searched the globe for the best and safest equipment.'
The park is already open to corporate groups, but will only be available to the public in the next couple of weeks so that it can be fully prepared for larger crowds.
The park will open every day - corporate groups and schools can book the facility exclusively from 10am to 2pm, while the public can visit the park from 2pm to 7pm, with the last flight at 645pm.
Megazip will remain open to 'night flyers' from 7.30pm to 10pm.
Tickets from the zip line will cost $29 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the Silosa Beach Megazip van or at the Adventure Park itself on Imbiah Lookout.
