Negligent driver fined S$5,000

SINGAPORE: A driver was fined S$5,000 for failing to keep a proper lookout while driving, resulting in the death of a 45-year-old pedestrian.
59-year-old Goh Teow Hock has also been disqualified from driving all classes of vehicles for two years.
Goh was reversing his car at around 6.45pm on July 25 2009, along Jalan Kubor towards Rochor Canal Road, when his car hit Ms Ong Hee Lan.
She suffered serious head injuries and died three days later, on July 28.
