At Nee Soon’s countdown this year, viewers had to pay entrance fees before they can get to countdown with the Prime Minister. For those who do not have the money, there must be contented listening to the music and staring at the high metal barriers erected and designed to prevent non-paying eyes from viewing the entertainment.
What a sad day it is for Singaporeans, especially when the event is already sponsored. I wonder if this is a the case of profits seeking by the Town Council or because of a lack of sponsorship?
Surely the rental of the venue is free for this event, given that it is organised by Nee Soon CC.
So much for staying together, moving ahead. They should change this slogan to: Staying together, Moving ahead.only when you can pay.
