On the streets of Budapest
the man called the world’s most wanted Nazi criminal
has been tracked down.

Laszlo Csatary charged with involvement in the murders of over 15,000 Jews was
located by British newspaper, The Sun in cooperation with the Wiesenthal Institute in
Jerusalem.

He was tracked down after a tip off to a two bedroom apartment in a smart district of
the city. The 97-year-old refused to answer questions, slamming the door to the
newspapers reporter.

It is alleged he sent 15,700 Jews to the Auschwitz death camp while he served as
commander of police forces in the city of Kosice. After the war he was found guilty and
sentenced to death in absentia.

In 1977 Csatary was discovered living in Canada but then disappeared. This year he was
declared number one on the Wiesanthal Institute’s list of most wanted Nazis.
