SENIOR Minister Goh Chok Tong will visit Libya this week to represent Singapore at the country's national day celebrations.
Mr Goh will be in Tripoli from Monday to Wednesday, said the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Sunday.
The celebrations, which will be attended by several foreign leaders and dignitaries, are to mark the 40th anniversary of the Great Al Fateh Revolution led by its leader Muammar Gaddafi.
During his visit, Mr Goh will also meet senior members of the Libyan government, said the PMO statement.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations with Libya in 2006, Singapore's economic ties with the North African country have strengthened significantly, the statement added.
Bilateral trade grew from $93 million in 2007 to $406 million last year.
Singapore companies have so far secured more than $2 billion in projects in Libya's construction, water infrastructure and capability development sectors.
Mr Goh first visited Libya in May last year.
