M'sian Sugar King Robert Kuok Listed In 100 Richest People In The World

Malaysian business magnate, Robert Kuok, has continued to solidify his status as the richest man in the country. He managed to maintain his position as one of the 100 richest people in the world.
As stated in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index list, Kuok was ranked 98th on the list. It was reported that the wealthy billionaire has a fortune of US$14.9 billion (RM70.6 billion). However, it was also revealed that his wealth this year has declined by US$3.18 billion (~RM14 billion).

For those who don’t know, Kuok is perhaps best-known for his nickname “The Sugar King of Asia”. His business interests range from sugarcane plantations, sugar refineries, and flour millings, just to name a few. At the same time, he was also widely involved in businesses in the financial, hospitality and transport sectors. Previously, Forbes Asia also listed the 99-year-old as the richest person in Malaysia with a net worth of US$11.5 billion (~RM54 billion) in 2020, as he continued to hold the title for more than 20 years.
In addition to Kuok, Public Bank founder, Tan Sri Dr. Teh Hong Piow was also listed as one of the 500 richest individuals in the world. He was ranked in the 328th place, with a wealth value of around US$6.43 billion (RM30.5 billion). At the same time, it was also reported that the wealth of the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, has dropped to US$190 billion (RM948.6 billion). Earlier in October, the CEO of TESLA was said to have lost about US$80.4 billion (~RM379 billion) year-to-date (YTD).

Former richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos, is now ranked fifth, with a fortune totaling US$114 billion (~RM537 billion) after having lost a massive US$78.4 billion (~RM369 billion) YTD. Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, saw his wealth dropped to US$35.2 billion (~RM165 billion), after he lost a whopping US$90.3 billion (~RM425 billion) YTD. He has dropped to 29th place on the list.
