BEFORE we introduce bicycle rental kiosks, 'consider these proposals first', wrote Mr George Ee on Dec 11.

I support his proposals. Bicycles can pose a threat to pedestrians, especially children and the elderly. When cyclists are inconsiderate, they really are a nuisance.
I remember one incident vividly. My friend's mother was nearly hit by a cyclist while walking along a footpath. The cyclist appeared suddenly in front of her, and in trying to avoid the bicycle, she lost her balance and fell, hitting her head on the ground. The cyclist did not stop to help her.
She died in hospital two weeks later without regaining consciousness. The cyclist caused the accident, but the person was never caught because the bicycle did not have a licence plate.
I hope the authorities will make it compulsory for all cyclists to register their bicycles and have licence plates put on them. They have to be responsible for their actions when cycling.
Cyclists should push their bicycles across traffic-light junctions and give motorists time to stop before they cross the road. I once nearly hit a cyclist who shot across the junction. It was a frightening experience. Angie Chue (Ms)

What to do when the people elect someone that is rich and powerful to rule? The ruler don't know the hardship of the people and hence comes out with crappy ideas and stupid plans that may even endanger the people. Then when the plan screws up they will tell the people its a lesson leaned and was an honest mistake lets move on.

Even during school days, she was a colourless character. Even in New Paper, she was below average. Then she wrote an article on NZ single mums ripping off the welfare program, raising her prominence within the establishment. She still could not be employed so they first posted her to SPH Reserach Dept and then to NTUC, both well known for housing and paying for new talent that cannot seek gainful employment in the private sector.

The Bicycle program of her is a disaster when people are fighting for the same pedestrian path as others in an overcrowded country. Rather insensitive.

if the bicycle never hit her, why should he stop. if i drive a car, someone in front of me, decide to crash into the divider and die, why should i stop and help, someone might sue me and say i cause the crash.
