Senior police officer arrested for sodomy

KLANG: A police officer is assisting in investigations in a sodomy case involving a 15-year-old boy at the Panda-maran Sports Complex on Sunday.
In the 11pm incident, the 50-year-old assistant superintendent allegedly sodomised the boy, who was working there part-time during the school holidays.
It is believed that the boy knew the officer, who has been on loan at the Klang district police station from Perak, for crime prevention operations since early this month, and was staying at the hostel near the sports complex.
State police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed the arrest, saying investigations were ongoing.
The victim, accompanied by his parents, lodged a report at the Klang district police station on Monday and the police officer was arrested the same day.
However, the police officer, who is married, was released on bail on Tuesday after his statement was recorded.
The boy was admitted to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for a check-up and has received counselling.
