As a plus-sized woman, Ms Jaslyn Tan was originally hesitant to learn pole dancing.

The 28-year-old preschool teacher (@risingqsilence on Instagram) started attending classes at Slap Dance Studio only after her colleagues encouraged her to give it a try. And she’s since fallen in love with the sport.

After two years of hard work, Ms Tan is now able to twirl around the pole gracefully and nail the gravity-defying inverts effortlessly. She’s also confident enough to post her pole dance routines online, never mind the hate comments that might come her way.
