</TD></TR><TR><TD><!-- headline one : end --></TD></TR><TR><TD><!-- show image if available --></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I READ with interest yesterday's report on the Government's plan not to allow completed train stations to remain closed in future ('No mothballing of MRT stations in future'). This will allow train services to serve the public, even if operators feel it is not economically viable.
Nevertheless, I hope to draw attention to the plight of Sengkang West residents who have been at the mercy of the train operator's decision not to allow LRT services to operate both ways on the Sengkang LRT line's west loop.
Currently, services on the west loop operates in one direction only. The residents' committee, of which I am a member, and other grassroots organisations in Sengkang have often lobbied and held talks with SBS Transit to have the LRT operate in both directions, but the reason is always that poor ridership does not justify the cost incurred.
SBS Transit has been gracious enough to add more services to the line. However, even with more services, during peak hours, residents often are crammed like sardines on the train, or they miss the train because they could not get on. Also, residents sometimes have to take a longer route to get to Sengkang Central.
The Government should make it compulsory that train operators operate full services. SBS Transit should be told to operate the Sengkang West LRT line fully.

During the morning peak hours and after office hours the west loop service is jam pack and most of the times the door closes before passengers board the train. Why not they operate both directions as east loop. Its the same amount of passengers boarding west loop and east loop. Please LRT operators look into this matter. The worest thing if you board the train wrongly into west loop we have to go one big round before we reach sengkang. This is happened so many times

So if there are 1000 commuters taking one particualr bus from say, 8 to 10 a.m., and only 200 from 10 a.m. onwards till the next peak hour at 6.30 p.m., SBS will NOT increase the bus services. Why? Because fuel and bus drivers' salaries are all part of their calculation! And they feel that it is simply NOT economic viable to increase the frequency! LOL

So bear with it, my Singaporean friends. We do have 'World Class' transportation services, as often declared by our leaders, because they are so good in their calculative calculations, and better in their monopolised colonisation in making sure that no other transport company ever exist on this land to compete with them for that oh-so-precious five cents of profit.

present pap dogshit, morally corrupt gov and their dogs, turning public transport into money making business.

they suck millions and millions from motorists by fuel taxes, grp, coe, road taxes, and they keep the money to themselves, not pumping the money into the public transport, instead they even want more profit from their public transport, the old PAP would not do that, the present PAP are horrible.

Please don't give them ideas to increase transport price leh...

I think that's a good idea even if it comes with fare increase. For example, the EZ-Link machine could be programmed to levy 50% extra between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m., to compensate for the driver's OT. I think that's fair.
